When we speak of Christ’s priesthood, what else do we mean than the incarnation? – Fulgentius of Ruspe (468-533)
In the incarnation, humanity and divinity, heaven and earth, are made one in Christ Jesus. He is the bridge-builder (pontifex) who brings together all that has been divided.
To the extent that we come to share in theosis, union with God’s life, heaven and earth are made one in us, and we express the priesthood of Christ’s incarnation.
